What’s in Her Closet

Tori Johnson is a proud mom of two which, to her, is her most important job and role in life.  She is one of the most stylish and career-driven moms you will run across.  She is a Texas girl through and through and gets her love of fashion from her grandmother, who was the matriarch of a farm & ranch family.

Tori is the owner of a PR/marketing company, editorial/commercial stylist and beauty and fashion editor for a variety of local magazines.  She was recently named San Antonio Blogger of the Year for her blog, The Storibook, as well as Neiman Marcus named her one of their “Women who Rock” and served on their 2015 Beauty Event panel.

In our interview, she gave our readers some great tips and thoughts on style and fashion.

What are your go-to pieces as well as some of your favorite in your wardrobe?

The shift dress to me is like the maxi dress is to Rachel Zoe.  I firmly believe it’s every girl’s “must have.”  It’s a timeless silhouette that’s flattering to all body types at the same time it is sophisticated and comfortable.  My other go-to pieces are kimonos.  This is a boho chic staple that can give you a carefree yet stylish look.  I also love a well-tailored blazer – I wear them thrown over the shoulders.  Lastly, I absolutely can’t forget SHOES….ALL the shoes!

Who are your favorite designers?

I’ve been obsessing over Stacey Bendet from Alice & Olivia.  She is one of my inspirations. Stacey has such a natural, yet eclectic/cool factor about her and she truly embodies her brand.  With that comes the fact that she really knows a woman’s body.  She designs these fabulous pants that not only lift your bum but make you appear taller and leaner!  My favorite celebrity designers….I have a serious girl crush on Rachel Zoe, Victoria Beckham and Gwen Stephani.  Talk about some major #girl boss action!

Where do you like to shop?

Honestly, I am a huge online shopper.  With my busy career, I have little time to shop in person.  Not to mention taking a four-year-old and a baby shopping is my idea of a nightmare.  Most stores now offer free shipping AND returns so I order items I like in multiple sizes and then just send back what does not fit.  Some of my favorite places to shop online are ASOS, Topshop, BaubleBar, Nordstrom, Zara and ShopBop.
