Welcome to this year’s edition of San Antonio’s 100 Most Expensive Homes.
You’ll get the chance to meet the people who own the most expensive residential properties in San Antonio on the following pages. All home values in this feature are based on the Bexar County Appraisal District’s 2013 appraisal figures.
What’s the most expensive neighborhood in San Antonio? Judging from our list, Terrell Hills can lay claim to the title, as 41 of this year’s top 100 homes call Terrell Hills home. The top-100 list also includes 14 homes each from The Dominion and Olmos Park, 13 from Alamo Heights, six from Hill Country Village, five from Shavano Park and seven others from different parts of San Antonio.
How has the housing market affected the value of this year’s top 100 homes? On average, the homes on this year’s top-100 list have gained $155,657.10 in appraisal value for a combined 2013 increase of more than $15.5 million.
These numbers gel with reports about the San Antonio housing market that have been released in recent months, including an increase in sales in the luxury home market, a drop in foreclosure rates, a rise in the prices and total sales of new homes and more.
Will 2014 be another boom year for San Antonio? Only time will tell.
